Holding Hope

As I read about and see photos of the places you have been, I think of all the people that I have meet in these places over the last dozen years---people who want their children to have an opportunity to grow, people who want to enjoy land and cultivate it, people trying to build better communities. Each human being is precious and sacred. We need each other. God is generous. There is enough land, water, and food for the peoples of the earth, but our responsibility is recognize that and learn God's ways of sharing. Let us hold hope gently in our hands. Let us patiently and persistently nurture it until it flowers in justice and peace.
